DCL worked with local Ohio artist Matthew Mohr to develop, engineer and fabricate this 14ft, 7,000lb, interactive digital sculpture named "As We Are." Featuring custom LED modules, an integrated 3D photobooth, 32 cameras, and a touch-screen display - this unique project combines technologies to present a seamless experience for visitors to display their own portrait on the sculpture. It is located in the newly renovated Greater Columbus Convention Center in Ohio.
Creosphere was fortunate enough to be brought on by Design Communications Limited, D.C.L for this project, designed by Matthew Mohr. We helped spec, design, and implement all aspects of the user experience and user interaction systems, including computer, audio, video and lighting hardware, depth tracking with an Intel RealSense camera, 15 language translations, and custom software development for a CMS that allows the artist to curate shows and modify the experience as needed while working in tandem with the other 32 computers required to run this installation.
